NOW and you can have one of my favorite tricks to make your computer works better. Windows Xp and other versions run a lot of "services" (not really necessary) in the background of your system, and of course, using RAM and making the whole thing slower. This tweak will help your computer to play games, especially, videos and other programs to run faster and in fact more stable.
So, now I'll show you how to disable them, but before you do any changes, create a restoring point in your system, this is just in case one of the services was necessary in your system particularly.
Note that this changes will improve the performance of your personal system and can be apply to desktop computers where wireless connection is not longer need or special services.
Go to start, run (as show in the picture) and type services.msc and then enter. A window will pop up with all the services running at this point, you can disable the next services:
Application Management
Computer Browser
Help and Support
HID Input Service
Net Logon
NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Portable Media Serial Number Service
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Routing and Remote Access
Secondary Logon
Smart Card
TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Uninterruptible Power Supply
Universal Plug and Play Device Host
WebClient
Windows Time
Wireless Zero Configuration
WMI Performance Adapter
To disable them just doing right click on the service go to properties and then in the “start up” change from manual to disable.
Here you have a screen shot to see how it looks like, I hope this make it work your system much faster.
